Minecraft Builds
Below, you will find five Minecraft build challenges that are available to all players. Each challenge gets progressively more difficult and requires more time and skill in Minecraft. None of these builds are required to complete the course. However, the completion of these challenges result in extra experience points and an achievement.
To fulfill the challenge, players must make a 60+ second video of the build and publish it to Youtube, export the world save and submit to Google Doc Folder (change spawn point to structure), and supply at least a paragraph reflection on the process of the build. Please contact the Game Master if you have any questions.
1. Where you Live
Most houses and apartments we live in are quite simple to build. The first challenge requires players to build their residents (either previously lived or current). You are strongly encouraged to think about furishment and exterior amenities.
2. Campus Build
School structures tend to be easily built in Minecraft due to their rectangular structure. For this challenge, build Cooper Library, the Academic Success Center, or the Watt Family Center. You do not have to build every desk and chair, but remember to think about the interior design and furnishments. Make sure to also include your sketches, photos/screenshots, and/or research.
3. Windmill Challenge
If you click on "Create New," you will find the "Windmill Challenge" as a possible world. Replicate the windmill on the platform. If you make any sketches, please make sure to include them.
4. Redstone Drawbridge
In Minecraft: Exploded Builds, you will find a drawbridge that can be created. Recreate this and show it work in your video.
5. Castle Challenge
In Minecraft: Exploded Builds, you will find a castle; recreate this. The castle should have three interior floors, a roof, and a dungeon at least. You should create the rooms as detailed as the book suggests. There are several variations of the castle and associated rooms in the book. Any of these will do. This build must have the drawbridge and associated walls constructed as well. You should have at least two other buildings inside the castle walls.
If you complete all five of these builds and submit the appropriate components (outlined above), you will earn 50 experience points and the Master Builder Achievement. If you are found cheating, you will lose points.
